The Case

In 2013, 11,539 high school graduates wrote exams to get into the public university. 10,328 candidates passed representing 89% pass rate but only 1,909 candidates were accepted into the public universities. This means that every year over 9000 youth are denied the opportunity to get university education. Should their lives end there? No!

The Solution

Youth’s Empowerment Program

In this program, we provide a platform where youth are equipped to use their high-school education to improve their living standards. This is done through:

In this program, we recruit young people to have hands-on training that may prepare them for job acquisition or business creation. This is also a platform where out of college graduates advance their careers by getting on-the-job training in various disciplines.  Activities include: free computer trainings, typing lessons, secondary school bursaries, and on the job training working with learners.

The program recruits high-school dropouts and graduates, train them in business creation and development, provides them with soft loans, supports them to be successful in their businesses. 15 young adults are benefiting from our loans and we have an 90% repayment rate.
